The Simmering Pot - LWA Monthly Sharing Circle

a circle that invites all genders and their creation stories to share & witness of each other, held by the roots of creole diaspora

What is lwa?

In creole culture, lwa are those we turn to when we need assistance. They each look after the relationships with nature that teach us lessons and help us to learn more about ourselves. (Yemaya of the Ocean, Oshun of the sweet waters of the rivers, Shango of fire, Oya of wind to name a few).

The lwa sharing circle invites us as INDIVIDUALS where all genders, all ages (who are able to share in conversations) are invited. And they do not judge us - they teach us how to listen to each other and learn from what each of us bring.

This month we explore:

"Circles Upon Circles" - The importance of Storytelling.

By supporting our classes, workshops and circles, contributions from your proceeds go to our elders who provide the wisdom we carry, to community and to land reparations.

"heart.earth.drum simmering pot" honours our ancestors, the orishas and lwa, elder teachers and the creole diaspora that stirs big spoons and pours nourishment into our hearts. I am grateful for the medicine I receive daily from all these spaces and look forward to sharing these gifts with you.
