About Aunty Mixch

A greeting/salutation.
Meaning: Good health and peace to you

Aunty Mixch with her hair out at the ocean.

Alafia,

I am Mixch (aunty Mixch) of HEART.EARTH.DRUM an international indigenous teacher, ceremonial facilitator, Hawaiian cacao plant medicine carrier, rootworker and heart meditation/reiki tummo trained healer with 15+ years’ experience, who continues to study and learn as a foundation student from my elder teachers.

My medicine stems from the roots of my unbroken matriarchal lineage of African and Mascarene islander grandmothers and the strong relationships that I hold with my Yoruba ancestors through the traditions and rituals of Voudun.

I am passionate about empowering all genders to recognise the tools that they have within. I am a strong believer of teaching people “how to feed and nurture themselves”, by telling their own creation stories of the HEART through their Iburu (strong voice), weaving respectful relationships with all that live and breathe on the EARTH and having the freedom and choice to dance with all of their parts in celebration to the beat of their own DRUM.

May you know and welcome these gifts in yourself.

We learn from a library of All.

There is not one way or one story or one tradition that I am finding that is the “only way” of learning.

Each one who I weave with, each class that I take, each story that I share and listen to weaves me more into a oneness.

Our common ground is our relationships with the land that we live in, and our land (our Aina) within.

We bring it all to the table.
We honour all parts of it.
We see each other and our stories.

We don’t forget what they have been, but we listen and learn from our ancestors (who are also the land) who have walked before us.

We see forgiveness and self love in the land that shows us how to know our oneness better.

This is how I learn. And in turn, these are the teachings that I put down for you in your free will and choice to pick up.

If you are feeling that you want to know more about how to walk this way come learn from the mythology and stories of Pataki.

Come learn from the plant medicine of Hawaiian ceremonial cacao.

Come learn from the reciprocity that is shared within LWA circles.

Come understand how to walk in cultural exchange.

Come learn from the Oneness of the land and let it teach you to know yourself better.
